Welcome Home

Thank you to everyone who called or sent emails upon arrival from Jordan to Minnesota, to New York, Virginia , Oklahoma, California, and Korea. It was a very smooth send off at SFO airport. ( Sashmita tell me when you get back to India ok? I know you are with your auntie and uncle here..)
Keep in touch and make sure to let us know what leadership projects you are heading up at school, your community and the world!
Good luck from your fearless leaders. Tracy, Ellen and Tesa

Our time is coming to a close. Our leaders will carry on.

It's been days full of presentations, singing songs, telling stories, and recapping our two together here on the Stanford campus. We had a UN GA Summit, where the students represented Sweden, South Africa, Tanzania, Romania, India, Bolivia, Brazil, and China. Perhaps they will submit their solutions for international problems,  and be our next global leaders. We had a busy afternoon packing up, talking story and getting ready for our departure. After a bus ride on the Marguarite into Palo Alto, we ventured down University Avenue to Il Fornaio restaurant where we sat at one long table and feasted on fresh bread, and pasta. The evening concluded with certificates of completion for each student and special awards for our outstanding leaders.
The house is full of excitement tonight as Jane plays my  ukulele, singing new  songs..( her piano playing has kept us captive the entire time) . Leopold, Shelby, Erin and Sama make a fort under the bunkbeds...Zoe, Perry, Lauren, Kirsten, Sashmita, Haley  and Genie camp out in the hallway telling stories, Alex G  helps with our computer tech questions, and the three stooges- Leo, Alex D. and Teddy get their room back into one piece. Everyone has been incredible. We all had a good time..
Tomorrow we are off to the airport and it will be grand send off. Thanks for sending us such great students, the new leaders of tomorrow.... we have forged a new pioneer program and we couldn't have done it without everyone's help and input. Keep your heart on your servant leadership and remember all the great lessons we have all learned.
See you all soon- keep in touch and join our Facebook Leadership Academy page...

Trip to Santa Cruz

Sunday, we had our final excursion to the coast.  We arrived at Santa Cruz, took a self-guided tour of the beautiful UC-Santa Cruz campus.  The students checked out the nature trails and unique architecture.  It was a sharp contrast to the other campuses they had visited so far.  A few of us visited the mission church in the town of Santa Cruz.  We all had a picnic lunch and spent the afternoon enjoying the boardwalk and beach.  We took the scenic route home on  Hwy 101.  The weather has been spectacular so far - not one rainy day! The evening was spent finishing their Language / Culture and UN projects and sharing photos.  As the program winds down, the students are busy finishing up their projects which they will present tomorrow.

Today, we had a guest speaker, Rachel Melia, who enlightened the students on social media marketing.  We had a lively afternoon of language and culture presentations, including Chinese, Japanese, French, Spanish, Korean, Arabic, Hindu, and Latin.

Tomorrow is another full day as we prepare for our departure Wednesday.
